Accounting Manager Job Description

Accounting managers usually has five years of accounting experience. An accounting manager possesses good communication, technology and analytical abilities. An accounting manager will have at least a working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) . An accounting manager typically hs advanced credentials such as chartered accountant (CA), certified general accountant (CGA) or certified management accountant (CMA). In some cases a bachelor or finance degree will suffice.

  • Hiring, training and supervising accounting staff
  • Maintaining the general ledger system
  • Maintaining generally accepted accounting principles
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
  • Preparing and reviewing ledger entries and reconciliations
  • Assisting with regulatory reporting
  • Coordinating the budget process
